I’m from Brantford, Ontario which is mostly known for Wayne Gretzky and Alexander Graham Bell. Not bad company. I’ve enjoyed performing all over and have a BFA for Acting from York University.
I’ve enjoyed working in theatres all over and have created some cool characters in Canadian theatre while working alongside the best directors and playwrights around. While doing traditional plays I was always monkeying around in the improv and comedy worlds. Improv great Colin Mochrie hired me at Second City and that’s how I got to writing, mostly on my feet. Years later I began directing the touring company and mainStage shows, and then lending a hand comedyturging south of the border for Second City Chicago’s #DateMe show which is making its’ off Broadway debut soon which is pretty amazing.
As an actor, comedian and storyteller, (don’t tell anyone but they’re almost all the same thing), I honed material for my latest show, Person of Interest at comedy clubs in Toronto and Halifax. I’m pretty honoured that other actors are now performing my play Miss Caledonia which I still tour on occasion.
I teach a bit too, and offer workshops when I tour. I’ve taught at my comedy alma mater the Toronto Second City, the renowned Humber College School of Comedy, and also the Randolph School for the Performing Arts.
As I say in Person of Interest, I live in Toronto’s west end with Allen, Dashiell and Luna, who is some a kind of angel in a rescue dog suit.
